Keyword ads constituted 35% of Online Advertising pie in 2003: IAB


Keyword advertising accounted for 35% of all online advertising in 2003 (up from 15% in 2002), according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). The strong growth in keyword advertising helped overall industry revenues grow nearly 21% to just under $7.3 billion. Keyword ads were followed by display or "banner" ads (21% of the market), online classifieds (17%) and paid sponsorships (10%).
